Good luck to Dimas-kun...

This afternoon, Dimas Andrianto from Indonesia kindly came by to offer his farewell greetings...
Dimas-kun had successfully completed his Doctorate in Agriculture Science and was conferred the Doctorate degree last September.
It was 'double congratulations' because his wife also gave birth to a baby last October...
I wish him the best of luck in his upcoming career at Bogor...

'On speaking English' and 'Introducing Mexico' (Lunch Presentation Meeting Series #059)

The first Lunch Presentation session for the fall season kicked off with Toshiya Kozai from the Law Faculty, talking about the difficulty many Japanese people face when speaking English, and the reasons behind the phenomenon. Following that, we had Paco Nicolas Felix presenting on Mexico. Fourteen students came to listen to the talk.

Opening Ceremony for Japanese Studies Program and Sanuki Program

This year, the International Office is hosting two students (from Myanmar and Mexico) in the Japanese Studies Program.
At the same time, we are also very pleased to host three students (two from Universiti Brunei Darussalam, one from  Chiang Mai University) in the Sanuki Program. We conducted a simple ceremony to start off both these programs today.
We hope they will enjoy their student life at Kagawa. Good luck !

Autumn Semester 2015 Welcome Party

For the Autumn Semester of 2015, Kagawa University is honored and pleased to welcome over 50 new international students.

On this day, the International Student Center conducted a Guidance Session for the students staying at the Dorm, and then for all new students.

Along with the Supporters and Tutors, ICES members, members of the various International Associations in the community, some senior students, and some staff members, I think there were more than 100 people in the Welcome Party...

After the Toast by a senior international student, the traditional Japanese music student club of Kagawa University (Chiku-yu Kai) played two songs for us.

This was followed by an interview of four new students from South Africa, Sudan, Myammar, and Vietnam.

ICES then held a Bingo game, with the lucky ones getting some prizes...

I hope all the participants enjoyed the event, and I wish all new students the best of luck in their studies at Kagawa University... (Lrong)
