For the 9th consecutive year, the Ayakawa International Association had kindly requested me to invite a few international students to partake in an udon-making and autumn-leaves viewing event.
For the last 8 times, the location was Kashihara Valley(柏原渓谷), which is very pretty in the autumn.
But this time, we are doing it at Takayama (Airport) Park(高山空港公園), which overlooks the Takamatsu Airport.
I brought 9 students (China, Thailand, Brunei, Taiwan, Myanmar) this time.
The 'dojo udon'(ドジョウうどん) is a specialty of Ayakawa town, and regular shops in town do not have this in the menu.
A Japanese Drum troop called Manten (満天)provided a marvelous performance after the meal. A town Councillor played some songs on the alto saxophone afterwards.
I hope the students learned a thing or two about Japanese culture in this event. (Lrong)
